June 2026 Modpack Server Watchlist: Better MC, Prominence II & More
Better MC BMC4 v58, Prominence II, NightfallCraft, Mayview, and DeceasedCraft are the June 2026 modpacks worth watching if you run a Minecraft server.

June 2026 Server Watchlist
Growth research has been pointing at the same pattern for weeks: ModReady already gets value from modpack-intent content, but non-brand SEO is still thin. The June play is not another broad hosting article. It is specific server-intent content around packs players are actively choosing for group worlds.
This watchlist is ranked for server usefulness, not just raw download count. A good server pack needs current server files, a clear multiplayer loop, and enough depth to keep a subscription alive past the first weekend.
1. Better MC [FORGE] BMC4
Better MC BMC4 is the safest June pick for mixed-skill groups. CurseForge lists v58 for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge with a matching server pack from May 30, 2026, and the pack has more than 16 million downloads on CurseForge. That is a huge signal for vanilla-plus demand.
Server angle: BMC4 gives players exploration, structures, quests, and better worldgen without demanding the complexity of ATM10. If your group includes casual players, this is one of the easiest modded Minecraft recommendations. See our Better MC BMC4 server guide for RAM and setup notes.
2. Prominence II: Hasturian Era
Prominence II is the stronger RPG pick. The official Modrinth page lists Fabric 1.20.1, client and server support, and the May 10 3.9.27 release as the current stable branch before the next major era. Its Talent Tree, artifact weapons, bosses, and quest progression make it a better fit for long-running friend servers than one-weekend novelty packs.
Server angle: Prominence II gives groups shared goals. That matters for retention. A player who is halfway through a build or progression arc is far less likely to cancel after the first session. Start with our Prominence II server setup guide.
3. NightfallCraft: The Casket of Reveries
NightfallCraft is smaller than Better MC or Prominence II, but it has a sharp theme: soulslike RPG progression, story, quests, and difficult encounters. CurseForge lists a 2.2.7.1 server pack for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge from May 22, 2026.
Server angle: focused RPG packs make good event servers. You can schedule boss nights, run a seasonal world, and give players a clear reason to come back. We published a NightfallCraft server guide for groups that want a darker RPG alternative.
4. Mayview (with Cobblemon)
Mayview is not a giant pack yet, but it represents a category worth watching: cozy Cobblemon adventure. CurseForge lists server files for Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge from April 20, 2026. That combination matters because Cobblemon keeps driving search demand, while cozy progression gives casual groups a softer multiplayer loop than competitive monster battling alone.
Server angle: this is a watch item, not an instant top-priority guide. If the pack keeps climbing, it deserves its own page. For now, it supports the broader trend that Cobblemon content is splintering into lifestyle, farming, and adventure subgenres.
5. DeceasedCraft
DeceasedCraft remains the stable zombie-apocalypse server pick. CurseForge lists Beta 5.10.16 and a matching server pack for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge. It is not brand new, but it still has something most packs lack: a clear multiplayer fantasy that players understand before they join.
Server angle: horror and apocalypse packs work well for short seasons. They are easier to pitch to friends, easier to stream, and easier to restart with a fresh world when the group wants another run.
What This Means for Server Owners
If you want the safest June server, pick Better MC BMC4. If your group wants long-form RPG progression, pick Prominence II. If you want a focused seasonal challenge, test NightfallCraft or DeceasedCraft. If your group loves Cobblemon but wants something calmer, keep Mayview on the watchlist.
For most of these packs, the practical starting point is 8 GB RAM, Java 17 for Forge/Fabric 1.20.1 packs, and Java 21 for newer 1.21.1 NeoForge packs. ModReady handles runtime and server pack matching automatically, but if you self-host, check those details before launch.
