April 2026 Modpack Rankings
Every month we dig into CurseForge and Modrinth download trends, community buzz, and server hosting data to rank the modpacks that matter right now. April 2026 brings three new entries, a Cobblemon takeover, and confirmation that ATM10 is not slowing down.
All ten packs below are available on ModReady with one-click install — pick a plan, select your pack, and you are playing in under two minutes.
The Rankings
1. All The Mods 10 (ATM10)
17.0 million downloads — NeoForge 1.21.1 — 500+ mods
ATM10 remains the undisputed king of kitchen-sink modpacks. With over 500 mods spanning tech, magic, exploration, and automation, it is the single most comprehensive modded Minecraft experience available. The ATM Star endgame gives veteran players a long-term goal that ties every major mod together. If you have never tried a big modpack before, start here.
RAM requirement: 10-12 GB
2. COBBLEVERSE
3.2 million downloads — Fabric 1.21.1
The definitive Cobblemon experience. COBBLEVERSE includes all 1,025 Pokemon, 93 Mega Evolutions, gyms, quests, and a progression system that feels like a proper Pokemon RPG layered on top of Minecraft. It has climbed steadily since launch and shows no signs of slowing down.
RAM requirement: 6-8 GB
3. DeceasedCraft
6.8 million downloads — Forge 1.20.1
Zombie apocalypse survival done right. DeceasedCraft turns Minecraft into a genuine horror experience with scavenging, base defense, and a difficulty curve that punishes carelessness. The mod selection is tight and focused — no bloat, just survival tension from the first night onward.
RAM requirement: 6 GB
4. Better MC BMC4
16.4 million downloads — Forge 1.20.1
The best vanilla-plus experience in modded Minecraft. BMC4 enhances every aspect of the base game without overwhelming players with unfamiliar systems. Better worldgen, better combat, better building tools, better everything — all while still feeling like Minecraft. Perfect for groups that want more content without a steep learning curve.
RAM requirement: 6 GB
5. ATMons
1.1 million downloads — NeoForge 1.21.1 — NEW ENTRY
The ATM team applied their kitchen-sink philosophy to Cobblemon, and the result is exactly what you would expect: polished, feature-rich, and massive. ATMons combines Pokemon catching and battling with the full ATM mod ecosystem, giving players both progression paths simultaneously. It hit a million downloads faster than any ATM spinoff before it.
RAM requirement: 8 GB
6. RLCraft
28.8 million all-time downloads — Forge 1.12.2
Still the hardcore classic. RLCraft rewrites Minecraft's survival rules from the ground up — thirst, temperature, hostile mobs from the first second, and a leveling system that gates basic crafting. It runs on 1.12.2 and will likely never update, but new players keep discovering it. If you want to be humbled, RLCraft delivers.
RAM requirement: 4-6 GB
7. Prominence II
11.1 million downloads — Fabric 1.20.1
A sci-fantasy adventure pack that blends magic, technology, and exploration into a quest-driven experience. Prominence II has one of the most cohesive mod selections of any pack on this list — every mod feels intentional, and the progression from early game to endgame is smooth. Fabric performance keeps it running well even on mid-range hardware.
RAM requirement: 6-8 GB
8. FTB StoneBlock 4
2.2 million downloads — NeoForge 1.21.1
The latest StoneBlock iterates on the formula that made the series popular: start embedded in stone, mine your way out, and build increasingly complex automation. StoneBlock 4 adds new progression gates and reward structures that keep the loop satisfying far longer than earlier versions.
RAM requirement: 6 GB
9. Vault Hunters 3
NEW ENTRY
Roguelike vaults meet RPG progression in the most anticipated modpack sequel of 2026. Vault Hunters 3 sends players into procedurally generated vaults filled with loot, traps, and bosses. Each run is different, and the meta-progression between runs gives every session a purpose. It is growing fast and will likely climb higher next month.
RAM requirement: 8 GB
10. Create: New Age
NEW ENTRY
A quest-driven engineering pack built around the Create mod ecosystem. Create: New Age channels everything through mechanical contraptions — from basic resource processing to elaborate factory lines. If you have ever watched a Create timelapse and wanted a structured way to learn the mod, this is the pack to play.
RAM requirement: 6 GB
Trends This Month
The Cobblemon Explosion
Three of the top ten packs now feature Cobblemon as a core mod — COBBLEVERSE at number two, ATMons as a new entry at five, and several packs just outside the top ten are adding Cobblemon as an optional module. The Pokemon-in-Minecraft concept has gone from niche to mainstream in under a year.
NeoForge Dominance
Four of the ten packs run on NeoForge, three on Forge, two on Fabric, and one (Vault Hunters 3) has not confirmed its loader yet. NeoForge has effectively replaced Forge as the default choice for new 1.21.1 packs. Legacy packs on 1.20.1 still use Forge, but anything built fresh is going NeoForge.
The 1.20.1 vs 1.21.1 Split
The modding community remains split between two Minecraft versions. Packs built on 1.20.1 (DeceasedCraft, BMC4, Prominence II) are stable and feature-complete. Packs on 1.21.1 (ATM10, COBBLEVERSE, ATMons, StoneBlock 4) are newer and benefit from the latest mod APIs. Both are perfectly playable — the version split is about mod availability, not quality.
Horror and Survival
DeceasedCraft holding the number three spot reflects a broader trend: players want harder, scarier Minecraft. Expect more survival-horror packs to appear throughout 2026 as mod developers build on the frameworks established by DeceasedCraft and similar packs.
What This Means for Server Owners
RAM Requirements at a Glance
- 4-6 GB: RLCraft
- 6 GB: DeceasedCraft, Better MC BMC4, FTB StoneBlock 4, Create: New Age
- 6-8 GB: COBBLEVERSE, Prominence II
- 8 GB: ATMons, Vault Hunters 3
- 10-12 GB: ATM10
If you are choosing a plan for a group of friends, match your RAM to the pack. Underpowered servers cause lag spikes that no amount of optimization can fix.
Loader Choice Matters
Your server's mod loader must match your modpack exactly. NeoForge packs will not run on Forge, and Fabric packs require Fabric. ModReady handles loader selection automatically when you pick a pack — but if you are configuring manually, double-check before launch.
